Open and convivial,
Grandchamp-des-Fontaines has strengthened its attachment to its
Green Village label by environmental respect, thus conciliating
an urbanisation increase and a new modernity.
Grandchamp-des-Fontaines is a village concerned by its
lifestyle, decorating its centre with flowerbeds.
Grandchamp-des-Fontaines is a dynamic village, mainly because
of its young population. Many activities are offered to the
inhabitant, through municipal services like Animation Jeunesse
(youth club), sports and cultural associations.
The municipality of
Grandchamp-des-Fontaines is involved in the future (long-term
involvement), towards Sustainable Development, environmental
respect and renewable energies.
In Grandchamp-des-Fontaines a
couple of streams are flowing, the most important goes by the
name of Hocmard in its middle part and Curette near its spring,
by the west.
The Hocmard crosses the Ashton
Keynes gardens (see picture).
Nature is quite
present in the village, with two lakes:
Notre-Dame-des-Fontaines and Le Brossais; and Ashton Keynes
gardens.
As a real lung to the
township, the Coulée Verte ("Green Flow") is a mix of water and
greenery. It links the Notre-Dame-des-Fontaines Lake and Epinay
pools passing by Ashton Keynes gardens. The Coulée Verte offers
to the ramblers, on foot or riding a horse, a pleasant stroll
in the very heart of the township.
Grandchamp-des-Fontaines is
divided in hamlets, the most important ones being la Grand'H
aie, la Loeuf, Curette and les Chesnaies.
